Muzzleloaders!

Muzzleloaders offer a unique challenge because of their dependability. Or lack of, would be a better description. With the advent of inline ignition, they are considerably more dependable, but not perfect. Mostly considered a close range weapon. I enjoy the added challenge of hunting with this type of weapon, although I opt for the more modern design and the use of a scope.

This muzzleloader is a 54 Cal. built by CVA. It has inline ignition and is in a synthetic stock. This is called the CVA Apollo Eclipse. This one is equipped with a Leupold 6X M8 scope. This muzzleloader shoots conical bullets quite well. I took this Pronghorn at 220 paces at a fast trot, quartering away from me. No problem!

This muzzleloader is is also 54 Cal. This one has consecutive serial numbers with the one listed above. The difference is the camo paint and the Weaver 4X scope. This rifle is only accurate with patched round balls, so it's only useful for close range hunting. It's still useful for animals such as this Javelina, which was shot under 40 yds. I've also taken Desert Mule Deer with it.
